What is IC³?
The Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC³) program is the world's first validated, standards-based training and certification program for basic computing and Internet knowledge and skills. Learn necessary skills to succeed in the business world of today!
Successful completion of IC³ ensures you have the knowledge and skills required for basic use of computer hardware, software, networks, and the Internet. IC³ is the ideal starting point for anyone interested in learning computer and Internet basics.
Prime candidates for IC³ include GED students, adult basic education students, employees who use technology on the job, and anyone—young or old—who wants to gain a working knowledge of computers and the Internet.
Testing and Instruction
We have a series of courses, workshops, computer-based tutorials, and practice tests available to prepare students for the certification. Students enrolled in the IC3 program will be given the TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) at the beginning and end of each semester, which helps our instructors develop an educational plan that meets the student's needs. This course is a self-paced and self-taught. Instructors are available to help as necessary. The materials used in this course include: Microsoft Office text books, IC3 study manuals and practice tests.
Successful candidates must pass three exams to become IC³ certified:
- Computing Fundamentals
- Key Applications
- Living Online

The IC3 certification consists of three tests that require a voucher for each section. The cost per voucher is $25. On the Cheyenne campus, non-ACES students must also pay a one-time $15 administrative fee. If this cost is too high, please speak with an instructor about scholarship opportunities.
