Academic Advising

Got an advising question? Email advising@lccc.wy.edu.

Are you completely confused about what to major in? Refer to either the college catalog to see our list of majors or, for a more extensive career selection process, contact the Career Center to find out about career counseling services we offer.

New Students

If you are a brand new student to LCCC (never taken classes with us before), your academic advising process begins in the Advising Center. We meet with all first-time students to make sure you have the necessary pieces of information required to become a student, as well as assist you with your first-semester advising and registration. Check out more information about the Admissions Process.

Returning Students

Students who have attended LCCC before but are returning after an absence can start in our Advising Center, but understand that we may refer you onto your faculty adviser. After your first semester, students who have declared majors are referred on to the faculty advisers for their majors. General studies students continue to meet with Advising Center staff. We also meet with students who are on academic probation and/or suspension.

Transfer Students

If you’re a transfer student, you should have official transcripts from ALL previously attended institutions sent to the Student Records Office as soon as possible. Once transcripts are received, they will be evaluated and you will be sent a letter verifying their receipt and evaluation. You will then be referred to your EaglesEye account to find out which credits have transferred. If you have questions at that point about how the credits apply toward your major at LCCC, you may contact the faculty adviser for your major and/or the Student Records Office.

Online Students

If you are taking online-only classes from LCCC, you need to have official transcripts from previous colleges and high school sent, and/or take placement tests in either COMPASS or Accuplacer. You generally cannot enroll for any classes until you have sent transcripts or taken placement tests. Once we have received this information, you can be advised and registered either by e-mail or by phone.
