Testing Centers & Labs

The college offers three separate testing centers on the Cheyenne campus for different purposes. There also is a testing center at the Albany County Campus in Laramie. Basic information about each is offered below, or click to their individual pages for more details.
Exam Lab
The Exam Lab in Cheyenne administers exams for current students.
Testing includes:
- Make-up exams
- Telecourse and Internet exams
- Exams for students with special testing accommodations
- Exams from other institutions
- Graduation exit assessments
- Regular course exams in case of instructor absence
GED testing (Cheyenne and Laramie)
Testing is for GED candidates and preparation services are free. The GED battery consists of five tests:
- Language Arts, Writing: 2 hours
- Mathematics: 90 minutes
- Social Studies: 70 minutes
- Science: 80 minutes
- Language Arts, Reading: 65 minutes
Math Lab
Your instructor may require you to complete assignments and drills in this technology-enriched environment.
Testing Center
This center in Cheyenne is for incoming students to assess whether they have the needed skill level to take a course or start a particular program.
Testing includes:
- Placement Testing (COMPASS)
- CLEP/DSST (Formerly DANTES) Credit by Examination
- Kaplan (Entrance test for nursing program)
- LPN STEP Test
WorkKeys Testing
WorkKeys measures and helps improve real-world skills of workers.
Testing includes:
- Applied Technology assessment and skills building
- Applied Mathematics assessment and skills building
- Career Readiness Certificate
- Healthcare and Fitness programs
- IT and Software Development programs
- Listening assessment and skills building
- Locating Information assessment and skills building
- Observation assessment and skills building
- Reading for Information assessment and skills building
- Skilled Trades and Industrial programs
- Teamwork assessment and skills building
- Writing assessment and skills building
ACC Testing Center
The Albany County Campus Testing Center in Laramie is for current students, incoming students and community members.
Testing includes:
- Placement tests (COMPASS)
- Makeup exams
- Telecourse and Internet exams
- Exams for students with special testing accommodations
- WorkKeys® tests for Career Readiness Certificates
- Exit assessment exams
