Ignite 212o @ LCCC!
Get a great start to your college experience! Orientation will connect you with other students, campus resources and the tools needed for your success. Orientation sessions are offered on both campuses, as well as online, so that you can attend the session that is most convenient for you. Upcoming orientation dates are listed below.
To attend orientation, you must have applied for admission and submitted all official high school and/or college transcripts. LCCC highly recommends that you submit prerequisite placement information (ACT/Compass scores and/or previous college credit) prior to attending orientation, as well.
After you attend orientation and provide placement information, you'll be ready to meet with your academic advisor. You will complete this initial advising process in a small group session, based on your program of study. Visit the Group Advising/Registration Session page for more information on date/time options and how to sign up.
Orientation is mandatory for all degree- and certificate-seeking students. Orientation provides all students with information to help support their success at LCCC.
However, a student's orientation requirement will be considered waived if:
- The student has completed an associate, bachelor's or higher degree from a regionally-accredited institution (LCCC must have received official transcripts verifying the degree was conferred)
- The student has successfully completed a minimum of 24 college-level institutional credits (credits at or above the 1000-level, taken at LCCC) with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- The student has completed an LCCC New Student Orientation since April 2014
Orientation is highly recommended for these students, but will not be required.
Please note that exception from the orientation requirement doesn't release students from mandatory advising. Additionally, students whose orientation requirement has been waived are responsible for all information covered in orientation.
*If students feel they have extenuating circumstances outside of these criteria, they may use the Exception Form to request an exception to this requirement. Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis.
