Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, minor in Spanish-University of Wyoming (1997)
Master’s of Public Administration-University of Wyoming (2003)


My educational and professional interests include advancing educational access for under-resourced students, specifically first-generation and minority populations and working at the state and federal levels to increase funding streams and policy and legislation pertaining to higher education equality. My family and I enjoy traveling, family nights, and being involved with the local community including theater, sports, clubs and organizations.

Professional Activities:

I am the Vice President for HOPE (Hispanic Organization for Progress and Education), Chair of the ASPIRE Regional Government Relations Committee for TRIO Organizations, WY Past-President of ASPIRE/TRIO, committee member of the Self-Sufficiency Team for the Laramie County Community Partnership, the Wyoming Latina Youth Conference Committee, and the Athena Committee of the Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce. In addition, I am adviser to the Association of Latinos Achieving Success (ALAS) club at LCCC. At the national level I work with Amnesty International, National Council of La Raza, National Women’s Law Center and the Woman’s Ordination Conference.
