I enjoy reading voraciously, writing fiction and poetry, playing video games, and spending time with my wife, Julie, and my daughter, Kayla.

Professional Activities:

I believe that the study of literature is a noble and revelatory endeavor; we learn, through the close and careful reading of great works of the past and present, the essence of what it means to be human. I also believe that a liberal education, founded on the tenets of critical thinking and probing discourse, can enlarge both ourselves and our understanding of the wider world. I actively pursue these ideals in the classroom.
