Golden Eagles trounce Plainsmen

The Laramie County Community Collegemen’s basketball team frustrated the Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen and ran away with the 94-67 victory Tuesday night. Bryse Velasquez knocked down a 3-pointer in the first 20 seconds of the game, and LCCC never looked back. The Golden Eagles’ offense and defense were firing on both cylinders as the Eagles went into the half with a 45-27 lead. In the second half the Golden Eagles kept the pressure on and didn’t allow the Plainsmen to catch up. At one point the Golden Eagles led by as much as 31 points.

The Golden Eagles (12-11) will travel to Trinidad, Colo., on Friday to take on Trinidad State Junior College and then over to La Junta, Colo., on Saturday for round two with the Rattlers of Otero Junior College.
