The Golden Eagles men's basketball team
traveled to Garden City, Kan., on Nov. 25-26 for the Garden City Classic.
On Nov. 25, The Golden Eagles lost to the Garden City Community College Broncbusters 62-74.
It was a rematch from a week earlier where the Broncbuster squeaked by the Golden Eagles with a 74-73 win at LCCC. The Eagles had hopes of creating a more favorable outcome, but weren’t able to turn their fortune in this game either.
The Golden Eagles kept the score close in the first half, 23-28 in favor of Garden City. LCCC’s twin towers, Rodrigo Silva and Ude Ifeanyichukwu, made a presence on the boards, out-rebounding GCCC 50-35. This pushed the Broncbusters to shoot from outside the key, but the Broncbusters shot 50 percent from beyond the arc. The Eagles tried to catch up and close the gap, but were not able to take the win.
