Katelyn Ellis wins break away at Shawn Dubie Memorial Rodeo

Women's team finishes fourth and men take eighth.
 
The Laramie County Community College rodeo team was excited to be at home for a weekend hosting the Shawn Dubie Memorial Rodeo Oct. 11-13. The women’s team finished fourth out of 13 teams and the men’s team finished in eighth out of 13 teams.
 
The women racked up a total of 150 points, led by Katelyn Ellis, who won break away with a combined time of 6.4. Ellis led the long go time with 3.2 and recorded another 3.2 time in the short go.
 
The men were led by Blayne Bradley, who finished fifth in tie-down roping with a combined time of 23.2.

  • Peter Walnofer finished seventh in steer wrestling with a combined time 16.2.
  • Kelsey Knust and Syerra Christensen finished seventh in team roping with a long go score of 7.4.
  • Chance Englebert finished eighth in bareback with a combined score of 131.
  • Kelsey Knust finished ninth in goat tying with a combined time of 16.9.
“As a whole we have improved since last year and have finished the fall on a positive note,” head coach David Browder said. “Were looking to be more consistent in the spring and focus on the little things to excel in the spring.”
 
Both teams are currently sitting 7th in the standings.

  • Brandy Brown sits second in the breakaway roping overall standings with 225 points.
  • Blayne Bradley sits fourth in the tie down roping overall standings with 180 points.
  • Katelyn Ellis sits sixth in the breakaway roping overall standings with 150 points.
  • Tawny Barry sits seventh in the goat tying overall standings with 170 points.
  • Peter Walnofer sits seventh in the steer wrestling overall standings with 185 points.
  • Jorry Lammers sits eighth in the barrel racing overall standings with 180 points.
  • Chance Englebert sits ninth in the bareback riding overall standings with 193.33 points.
  • Dillon Simonson sits ninth in the steer wrestling overall standings with 150 points.
  • Katelyn Ellis sits 10th in the goat tying overall standings with 135 points.
  • Brandon Moen sits 13th in the bareback riding overall standings with 45 points.
The rodeo team is finished with competitions for the fall and start again this spring.
