Golden Eagles lose by one in Garden City

The Laramie County Community College men’s basketball team fought Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kan., on Nov. 30 but lost battle 61-60. Garden City wanted revenge for its earlier loss to the Golden Eagles on Nov. 20 at LCCC.

In the first half LCCC trailed 31-25. LCCC clawed its way back into the game in the second half. With the game tied at 60 and a few seconds to play, the Golden Eagles planned to hold the ball for the last shot and the win. Unfortunately, LCCC turned the ball over with 13 seconds left and were called for a foul with one second to play. Broncbusters Travis Burley made one of two free throws for the win.

Davin Anderson (6-0, SO, PG) led the way for LCCC with 24 points and 6-for-10 from the 3-point line. Romaric Lasme (6-6, SO, FWD) scored 13 points and had nine rebounds.

The Golden Eagles travel to Lakewood, Colo., on Dec. 3 to play the Colorado Christian JV Cougars at 7 p.m.
