Close game against North Platte goes in LCCC's favor

Men's basketball team wins in overtime.


The Laramie County Community College men’s basketball team beat North Platte Community College (14-11 overall, 4-5 south sub-region) 72-67 in overtime on Feb. 10 in North Platte, Neb.

The Golden Eagles lost the first half and trailed 31-22 at halftime. In the second half the Eagles found their groove and outshot the Knights 50 percent to 33 percent. With eight seconds left on the clock and the Eagles down by three points, LCCC’s sharp shooter, Julian Chiera, made a 3-point basket to send the game into overtime. In overtime the Golden Eagles outscored the Knights 13-8 and stole the win. LCCC shot 63 percent from the free-throw line, 55 percent from beyond the 3-point arc and 42 percent from the field.
