On a cold, rainy day, Laramie County Community College men’s soccer team
squared off in a heated match with conference rival Western Nebraska Community College. The Golden Eagles took care of the Cougars 4-1.
LCCC had many chances in the first few minutes of the game to score, but didn’t put up the first point until the 15th minute. That goal was scored by Alfonso Perea, who was assisted by Hunter Britegam. Dino Soto assisted Landon Horst for the second goal of the match. In the 41st minute, a Cougar defender fouled Perea in the penalty box and a penalty was awarded. Soto took the kick and buried it into the back of the net.
The Cougars attempted to make a push in the second half and scored a goal in the 52nd minute, but couldn’t do anything else. In the 88th minute, another foul was called in the penalty box, which gave LCCC another penalty kick. Soto again fired the freebie past the Cougars’ goalie for the final score of the game.
