The Laramie County Community College men’s soccer team
hosted Western Wyoming Community College on Sept. 15 for a conference matchup. The Golden Eagles took the 4-1 victory.
WWCC’s Charlie Lifferth scored the first goal of the match in the ninth minute off a free kick from 25 yards, which sailed over the LCCC keeper and into the upper corner of the net. Even though the Mustangs scored first, that was all the Golden Eagles needed to get their momentum going. Guilherme Andrade scored six minutes later with a driven shot from 30 yards, which was assisted by Sam Hickman. In the 37th minute, Colton Cook passed a ball through the Mustang defense for Dustin Hegstrom to finish on net. The first half ended 2-1.
In the second half, the Golden Eagles pressured the Mustang midfielders to give up the ball and made quick counters toward the WWCC goal. Sam Hickman scored the third goal for LCCC in the 47th minute, assisted by Cook. Cord Stimpson scored the last goal in the 78th minute, assisted by Andrade. The final score was 4-1. Box Score
