Golden Eagles squeeze by Western Nebraska

The Laramie County Community College men’s basketball team edged the Western Nebraska Community College Cougars 76-74 on Feb. 12 in Scottsbluff, Neb. LCCC’s starting point guard and leading scorer, Deshon Portley was injured in the first 8 minutes of the game, but still put up 8 points before leaving the game. Portley’s absence contributed to the 35-41 deficit at the half. In the second half, Julian Chiera took over the point guard position and added 19 points to push the Golden Eagles to victory.
