Men’s soccer team ties with Otero Jr. College

Two overtimes can't break 2-2 score.
The Laramie County Community College men’s soccer team wouldn’t lose but couldn’t get the win either against Otero Junior College on Sept. 28. The game ended in a 2-2 tie after two overtimes.

LCCC took the early lead. In the ninth minute, Cord Stimpson scored the first goal of the match and was assisted by Tyler Arbuckle. The Golden Eagles had the lead at half 1-0.

Both teams struggled to take control in the second half. In the 69th minute, Otero was called for a foul in the penalty box, and Casey Allen converted the penalty kick, giving the Golden Eagles a two-goal lead. In the 72nd minute, LCCC fouled an OJC player outside of the penalty box. Otero took advantage of the free kick, and Karamba Jennah scored. Jennah also scored the tying goal in the 83rd minute.

The men’s soccer team (7-5-2 overall, 3-2-2 Region IX) will host Iowa Western Community College at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 1 and North Idaho College at 11 a.m. on Oct. 3. All Golden Eagle athletic home events are free.
