Thursday, January 27, 2011
Seven earn 4.0 grade point averages.

Student-athletes at Laramie County Community College are putting their academics first. Seven student-athletes earned perfect 4.0 GPAs: soccer players Aurora Menendez and Emi Yamamoto; basketball players Hayden Ahlbrandt and Justin Kauffman; volleyball players Maxi Blasini and Shawn Miskulin; and equestrian team member Jordan Matthews all made the President’s Honor Roll.

In addition, 30 student-athletes earned a 3.5 GPA or better, and 67 more earned at least a 3.0, meaning 104 student-athletes hit the 3.0 or higher mark. The average grade point average for the 140 total student-athletes in the fall 2010 semester was 2.80.

The equestrian team had the highest GPA with a 2.99, followed by the spirit squad (2.98), women’s soccer (2.92), basketball (2.90), women’s rodeo (2.88), men’s rodeo (2.79), volleyball (2.71), and men’s soccer (2.44).
