The Laramie County Community College women’s soccer team
traveled to Scottsbluff, Neb., on Sept. 22 and gave the Western Nebraska Community College Cougars a 7-2 beating.
The Golden Eagles took control of the tempo and the shot margin for the duration of the game. LCCC’s Monica Lubin opened the scoring in the fifth minute, assisted by Emi Yamamoto. The Cougars struck back in the 22nd minute with a goal from Brittany McNiel. Golden Eagle Amanda Halter scored the next three goals for her first hat trick of her college career. Shino Kunisawa added the last goal of the half for a 5-1 lead.
LCCC’s Junko Honda scored an unassisted goal in the first minute of the second half. Kunisawa chipped in her second goal of the game in the 77th minute, assisted by Whitney Oney. WNCC’s Rachelle Teckler scored a late goal in the 89th minute.Box Score
