Volleyball team’s season ends at Region IX tournament

Golden Eagles finish season 18-12.

 
The Laramie County Community College volleyball team won its third-round match of the Region IX tournament by beating Eastern Wyoming College 25-17, 27-25, 25-22. However, later that day in the fourth round, the Golden Eagles lost to Central Wyoming College 24-26, 26-28, 18-25.

In his first season as  head coach of the volleyball team, Darren Buckner finished with an overall record of 18-12.

Western Wyoming Community College won the tournament and will represent the Region IX North in the NJCAA national tournament on Nov. 17-19 in West Plains, Mo.

Region IX North Tournament Recap

  • Nov. 2: The Golden Eagles beat Northwest College in five games, 25-22, 21-25, 18-25, 25-17, 15-13.
  • Nov. 3: LCCC lost to Western Wyoming Community College in three games, 21-25, 17-25, 19-25.
  • Nov. 4: LCCC beat Eastern Wyoming College in three games, 25-17, 27-25, 25-22.
  • Nov. 4: LCCC lost to Central Wyoming College in three games, 24-26, 26-28, 18-25.
