The Fire Science Technology program started its inaugural course on March 21.
The two-day “Fire Hire” seminar taught prospective firefighter applicants how to prepare for an interview with a career fire department. Students participated in one day of classes explaining the hiring process, job duties and resume building. The second day of this course, students had the opportunity to go through a mock oral board interview presented by four firefighters from Cheyenne Fire and Rescue.
“The class was a huge success, " said Joe Golden, LCCC emergency services coordinator. "These individuals have a leg up on the other candidates.”
