Golden Eagles draw with Rattlers
Sunday saw a matchup between two teams that were tied at the top of the region entering the game, and things didn’t change at the end of the game as the Golden Eagles would draw 1-1 with Otero Junior College.

Otero managed to find the scoring column first when Darian Drake was able to find the back of the net in the 16th minute. The Golden Eagles looked to respond and did so in the 25th minute when Morgan Wyant got on the end of a cross sent in from Yuko Shinomiya.

The second half showed some great opportunities from both teams, but no one was able to break the draw. The match would go into two 10-minute overtimes, and the physicality of play increased; but in the end neither team found the net, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

With draw, the Golden Eagles move to 10-1-1 on the year and 5-0-1 in Region IX. Up next, the Golden Eagles hit the road for matches with Otero Junior College and Trinidad State Junior College on Oct. 4 and 5.
