Volleyball team advances to second round at regionals

Golden Eagles put away Trappers in three.

In the first round of the Region IX double-elimination women’s volleyball tournament, the Laramie County Community College volleyball team beat Northwest College in three games, 25-19, 25-10, 27-25.

Also in the first round, No. 2 nationally ranked Western Wyoming Community College defeated Dawson Community College in three. Casper College handed Eastern Wyoming College its first loss of the tournament and Central Wyoming College won in three over Sheridan College.

Tonight the Golden Eagles play Central Wyoming College at 8 p.m. Western Wyoming plays Casper. The winner of those matches will play each other at 6 p.m. on Friday. Other games to be played today are Dawson against Eastern Wyoming and Sheridan vs. Northwest.
