Mihajlovic leads Eagles with 27 points, 16 rebounds
The Golden Eagles took the Central Wyoming College Rustlers to overtime on Dec. 14, but couldn’t get the win. The score was 96-94. LCCC fell behind early in the first half and trailed by six midway through the opening period. The Eagles outscored the Rustlers by eight points in the final nine minutes to take a 39-37 lead at halftime.

LCCC seemed to take control in the second half and led by as many as seven points on several occasions. With the Eagles leading by three and less than a minute remaining in the game, CWC’s Paul Brotherson converted a basket and drew a foul. He missed the free throw but Bojan Mihailovic gathered the offensive rebound and scored the basket to complete the four-point play and give the Rustlers a one-point lead. LCCC’s Davin Anderson drove the length of the floor on the ensuing possession but missed the layup. The Eagles were forced to foul and Mihajlovic calmly sank two free throws to give CWC a three point lead. On the final possession of regulation LCCC’s Terrance Dent missed a game-tying three-point attempt. However, Kaipo Sabas gathered the offensive rebound and found Dent open again, and this time he nailed the game tying basket as time expired.

In overtime CWC scored off the opening tip and never trailed. LCCC missed 4 out of 5 free throws in the extra period.
