Equestrian team competes in western show

Numerous athletes place.
 
The LCCC equestrian western team competed this past weekend at the IHSA horse show hosted by University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Neb. This is the last competition of the fall season for the western team. The LCCC team is currently sitting fourth out of nine teams in the region. The golden eagles will resume the season with their first show in February.
 
Individual placings include:
  • Christa Avery placed fourth both shows in open reining
  • Christa Avery placed fourth in open horsemanship
  • Kelsey Jenkins placed second in advanced horsemanship
  • Amanda Heller placed fourth & fifth in novice horsemanship
  • Alyssa Redding placed second & fifth in intermediate II horsemanship
  • William Lyons placed third in intermediate II horsemanship
  • Jessie Johnson placed second & third in intermediate II horsemanship
  • Kailey Kaufmann placed second & fourth in intermediate I horsemanship
  • Mandy Harris placed first in intermediate I horsemanship and third in intermediate II horsemanship
  • Haylee Lavoie placed fourth & sixth in intermediate I horsemanship
  • Millie Chavarria placed fourth in beginner horsemanship
