These are busy times. Between work, juggling the kids’ summer activities, getting stuff done around the house, and endless other tasks, who has time for the things they’ve always wanted to learn how to do, like play the piano or guitar, or spruce up the house with fancy painted designs?
Well, all of us do, thanks to Craig and Linda Coffman’s one-day classes offered through the Life Enrichment program at Laramie County Community College.
The Coffmans are coming to LCCC on Saturday, June 23, to teach “Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy People,” “Instant Guitar for Hopelessly Busy Adults and Teens,” and “Fabulous Faux for Boring Walls.”
Instant piano is broken into two sessions. The first session covers the basics of playing the piano using the chord method, and it takes place from 9 a.m. to noon. The second session, “How to Play piano by Ear,” builds on the lessons taught in the first session and shows how easy playing piano without sheet music can be. It runs from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
In instant guitar, students will learn the basics of playing chords right away, and participants will leave with the ability to play simple tunes, as well as the foundation to expand their skills for more complex music. Instant guitar will be taught from 3:45 to 6:15 p.m.
Fabulous Faux teaches students how to easily create professional looking faux-painted walls. Part I covers basic looks such as classic, Tuscan and metallic, and it runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Part II delves into more popular approaches like suede, rustic and modern, and it is taught from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
