Volleyball team snags win, moves on to regional championship

Golden Eagles edge Western Wyoming in 5-game nail-biter.
Only two points separated two talented teams in the women's volleyball Region IX semifinal Friday, but Laramie County Community College pulled away with the victory vs. Western Wyoming, 25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 16-14.
Maria Voitenko led the team in kills with 34, while Abigail Nicholas and Daleah Whitaker added 14 and 11, respectively. Shelby Johnson tallied 66 assists, and Luiza Griz had 23 digs.
The Golden Eagles will play in the championship match Saturday at 6 p.m.
