The Laramie County Community College
volleyball team is off to its best start in school history, going 9-0 after defeating the then 18th-ranked Casper College Thunderbirds on Sept. 7 in three quick games, 25-11, 25-12, 25-11.
The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) released its latest
national rankings Wednesday, and the Golden Eagles volleyball team has moved up from 21st to ninth in the polls.
Sept. 7
Match 1: LCCC vs. Casper College. LCCC won 25-11, 25-12, 25-11.
Maria Voitenko had 17 kills, Breecia Mangum had four aces and Shelby Johnson had 14 assists.
On Sept. 11 the Golden Eagles (9-0 overall, 1-0 Region IX) will travel to Rock Springs, Wyo., to play the 10th-ranked Western Wyoming Community College Mustangs.
