Undefeated volleyball team moves up to 9th in national poll

Golden Eagles defeat Casper College, move up in NJCAA poll.
 
The Laramie County Community College volleyball team is off to its best start in school history, going 9-0 after defeating the then 18th-ranked Casper College Thunderbirds on Sept. 7 in three quick games, 25-11, 25-12, 25-11.

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) released its latest national rankings Wednesday, and the Golden Eagles volleyball team has moved up from 21st to ninth in the polls.

Sept. 7
Match 1: LCCC vs. Casper College. LCCC won 25-11, 25-12, 25-11.
Maria Voitenko had 17 kills, Breecia Mangum had four aces and Shelby Johnson had 14 assists.

On Sept. 11 the Golden Eagles (9-0 overall, 1-0 Region IX) will travel to Rock Springs, Wyo., to play the 10th-ranked Western Wyoming Community College Mustangs.
