Adult education program announces orientation schedule

Thursday, September 12, 2013
Sessions are available for Adult Basic Education, GED and ESOL.
Laramie County Community College’s Adult Career and Education System (ACES) recently announced its fall orientation schedule for potential students.

Orientation sessions for Adult Basic Education and GED® programs will take place on Oct. 21, 22, 28, and Dec. 16 at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. However, there will be no 6 p.m. session on Oct. 22.

Sessions take place in LCCC’s Career and Technical Building, Room 112.

The GED credential, or Wyoming High School Equivalency Certificate, is a first step for many individuals who transition into higher education or the workplace. LCCC has a variety of programs for adults seeking additional training or education.

Orientation sessions for the program “English Speakers of Other Languages” will take place on Sep. 23, Oct. 14, Nov. 4 and 25, and Dec. 16. Sessions take place at 6 p.m. in the Career and Technical Building, Room 122.

Instruction is provided by the ACES team in Cheyenne, which provides day and evening classes in Adult Basic Education, GED preparation, Adult Secondary Education, and English for Speakers of Other Languages. These noncredit classes are available for residents 16 years old or older.
