LCCC men’s soccer wins home opener

Four players score five goals for the Golden Eagles.

The Laramie County Community College men’s soccer team shut out Northwest Kansas Technical College from Goodland, Kan., 5-0 on Aug. 26. LCCC took control from the start of the game. Gleydson Neri scored the first goal in the 23rd minute and was assisted by Peterson Neri. Dino Soto put in a penalty kick in the 29th minute. The halftime score was 2-0.

Golden Eagle Gleydson Neri added another goal in the 57th minute, assisted by Cody Smart. Spencer Gray scored a goal assisted by Raphael Bonelle in the 66th minute. The final goal came from Bonelle, assisted by Xzavier Phare, in the 76th minute.

The men’s soccer team (1-0 overall, 0-0 Region IX) will travel to Sterling, Colo., on Aug. 31 for their first Region IX contest against Northeastern Junior College.
