On Dec. 2, The Golden Eagles
men's basketball team lost to the 10th-ranked College of Southern Idaho 53-83.
The College of Southern Idaho won the national championship last season and proved to still be a team to be reckoned with this seasons. LCCC was able to keep the game close for the first 13 minutes, with the score at 22-18 in favor of CSI. Then CSI went on an 18-point run before the half ended. In the second half, LCCC came close to tying the game until CSI went on another scoring run and put the Golden Eagles in a deep hole.

On Dec. 3, LCCC lost to 19th-ranked Northwest College 67-88 in the second game of the Western Nebraska Classic.
The Golden Eagles had a tough time getting the ball to fall in the first half and trailed at halftime, 25-40. In the second half LCCC shot the ball better and made a push to get back in the game, but couldn’t overcome that deep deficit from the first half.
