Despite struggling on the first day of the event, the LCCC equestrian team finished third at the University of Nebraska-Omaha show on Jan. 23-24. This show was rescheduled from the late October blizzard. The team faced hardships of having the show so quickly after Christmas break, allowing only a week and a half to practice.
Due to losing a few team members, which affects overall team points, the hunt seat team is currently in fifth place in the region. The riders who qualified for the hunt seat regional are: Paige Gentry, Cole Tully and Christina Worrell.
The Golden Eagles will compete in Frederick, Colo., on Feb. 13-14 at the University of Colorado.
