Equestrian riders move on to next round

The Laramie County Community College equestrian team did well in the regional hunt seat and western competitions this weekend. The riders qualified to compete in the regional competition by gaining points throughout the regular season, and only the top two individuals from each class advanced to the hunt seat zones and western semifinals.

Annie Hoag took second place in Beginner Equitation on Saturday in Fort Lupton, Colo., and earned a spot in the hunt seat zones that will take place April 2-3 in Pomona, Cali., at Cal-Poly State University.

Emily Graham placed first in Open Horsemanship and Anna Eberth placed second in Beginner Horsemanship in the western regional competition on Sunday at LCCC. They will compete in western semifinals March 26-27 in Springfield, Mo., at Missouri State University.

Individual Results from Hunt Seat Regionals:
· Annie Hoag placed second in Beginner Equitation
· Elizabeth Harris placed sixth in Walk, Trot, and Canter Equitation
· Krista Quint placed seventh in Walk, Trot, and Canter Equitation

Individual Results from Western Regionals:
· Emily Graham placed first in Open Horsemanship
· Anna Eberth placed second in Beginner Horsemanship
· Krista Quint placed third in Intermediate Horsemanship
· Annie Hoag placed third in Beginner Horsemanship
· Elizabeth Harris placed fourth in Advanced Horsemanship
· Kayla Fisk placed fifth in Advanced Horsemanship
· Leah Santillanes placed fifth in Novice Horsemanship
· Gloria Welch placed sixth in Beginner Horsemanship
