Equestrian western team finishes season in Nebraska

Kayla Fisk and Lily Crawford will represent LCCC at semifinals.

The Laramie County Community College equestrian team placed sixth in the region for the western season, after the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Western Show on Feb. 18-19 in Lincoln, Neb. The riders finished strong, and four student-athletes qualified for regionals, which were held the following day. Two of riders performed well enough at regionals qualify for western semifinals, which will be held in Harrington, Del., March 24-25.

Individual Results

Saturday horse show:
· Kayla Fisk placed second and fourth in open reining, and first and second in open horsemanship
· Jordan Matthews placed fifth in advanced horsemanship
· Annie Hoag placed sixth and seventh in novice horsemanship
· Brittany DeMartin placed first and third in intermediate horsemanship
· Sara Eggert placed fifth and seventh in intermediate horsemanship
· Lily Crawford placed first in beginner horsemanship
· Kailey Kauffman placed third in beginner horsemanship
· Jessie Johnson placed seventh in beginner horsemanship
· Adrian Parman placed first in beginner horsemanship

Regional western show:
· Kayla Fisk placed second in open horsemanship and qualified for western semifinals
· Lily Crawford placed first in beginner horsemanship and qualified for western semifinals
· Jordan Matthews placed sixth in novice horsemanship
· Annie Hoag placed seventh in intermediate horsemanship

The team will travel to Boulder, Colo., for the hunt show regionals March 3-4 at the University of Colorado.
