Men's basketball team loses in Gillette

Six Golden Eagles score double-digits, but team falls short.
The Laramie County Community College men’s basketball team lost to Gillette College 84-78 Saturday in Gillette. LCCC jumped to an early lead and held it for most of the first half, but a 7-2 scoring run gave the Pronghorns a 37-36 halftime lead. In the second half, the Pronghorns and the Golden Eagles traded the lead 21 times, but with three minutes left, the Pronghorns went on an 11-point run and never looked back. The Golden Eagles had a late push but couldn’t catch up.

The Golden Eagles (9-11) will be back at home Friday when they host Otero Junior College at 7 p.m. and then Lamar Community College at 4 p.m. on Saturday. All Golden Eagle athletic home events are free.
