Volleyball team grounds Air Force Prep

The Laramie County Community College volleyball team stepped out of region play and traveled to Colorado Springs, Colo., on Oct. 1 to take on U.S. Air Force Prep. The Golden Eagles won in four sets, completing their season sweep of the Falcons.

The Golden Eagles started strong and took the first set 25-18. U.S. Air Force Prep answered back in the second set 23-25. Coming out a little more focused, the Golden Eagles didn’t let any more sets slip as they took the third and fourth sets 25-21 and 25-14.

Ambre Desaulnay led the way with 21 kills, 1 assist, 1 solo block, 5 block assists, 21 digs and an ace serve. Rory McCloy had 51 assist on the night, and Madi Lacey lead the team in digs with 35. As a team, the Golden Eagles had eight serves for aces, 62 kills, 55 assists and 100 digs.

With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 10-11 on the year. Up next, the Golden Eagles continue their road trip with matches against Northwest College and Sheridan College on Oct. 4 and 6.
