The Laramie County Community College men’s basketball team
lost 57-64 to the Northeastern Junior College Plainsmen on Feb. 18 in Sterling, Colo., their second meeting this season. The Golden Eagles lost to the Plainsmen by two points in their first meeting of the season.
The Golden Eagles dominated the Plainsmen in the first half with a 33-19 lead. In the second half, the Eagles were up 15 points with 12 minutes remaining. The Eagles started to run the clock down, but as time wound down the Eagles couldn’t get their shots to fall. The Plainsmen capitalized on the missed attempts and some careless passing of the Golden Eagles and slowly chipped away at the lead until the three-minute mark, when the Plainsmen stole the lead for good.
