Miles LaRowe named interim college president

Thursday, February 24, 2011
LaRowe was the president of Northwest College in Powell from 2003 to 2008. He will take the position in mid-March.
At a special business meeting of the Laramie County Community College board of trustees on Thursday night, the board voted to award the interim president position to Miles LaRowe.

“Miles brings to LCCC a skill set the board was looking for in an interim president,” said board chair Brenda Lyttle when contacted by phone. “We wanted someone who could take the reins as president and take care of the college for several months while we search for a permanent president. We believe Miles can do that.”

LaRowe was the president of Northwest College in Powell from 2003 to 2008, and he also was the president of Eastern Idaho Technical College in Idaho Falls from 1996 to 2003. He was a faculty member and counselor at LCCC from 1973 to 1993.

In the special business meeting, Board Vice Chair Greg Thomas called for a recommendation for the interim president, and Ed Mosher moved that LaRowe be offered the position. Carol Merrell seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. Brenda Lyttle was absent for the vote due to inclement weather but took part in the discussions leading up to it.
