Golden Eagles shut down No. 11 men’s soccer team

LCCC gets sixth shutout of the season.
 The Laramie County Community College men’s soccer team defeated the 11th-ranked Otero Junior College Rattlers 2-0 on Oct. 7 at LCCC.

The Golden Eagles controlled the pace of the game right from the start. In the eighth minute, defender Chris Nieters passed the ball to Jorge Arenas, who shot a rocket from the right sideline into the OJC net for the first goal. In the 43rd minute the Rattlers' goalie botched a ball into the path of LCCC’s forward Gleydson Neri, who took advantage and shot it past the goalie. LCCC’s goalie Cameron Clark and the LCCC defense are credited with their sixth shutout of the season.

The men’s soccer team (10-2-1 overall, 6-2 Region IX) will host Northeastern Junior College on Oct. 10 at 2 p.m. This is a make-up game, due to the snow on Oct. 8. All the Golden Eagle athletic home games are free.
