Volleyball team goes 2-1 at WyoBraska tourney

The Laramie County Community College volleyball team took part in the WyoBraska tournament over the weekend in Torrington and Scottsbluff, Neb., and came away 2-1 with victories over McCook Community College and Lamar Community College. The lone defeat was to Western Nebraska Community College, ranked No. 2 in the country.
Ambre Desaulnay from LCCC made the All-Tournament team. Desaulnay, a 5-11 sophomore from Villenueve-Loubet, France, had a total of 38 kills, 3 block assists, 38 digs, 3 assists and 9 aces over the weekend.
In the first match, the Golden Eagles put together a well-rounded performance and took care of McCook in three sets (25-14, 25-22, 25-14). The Golden Eagles didn’t slow down as they they defeated Lamar later that evening in three sets as well (25-17, 25-15, 25-14).

On Saturday, the Golden Eagles squared off with the Western Nebraska Cougars and performed much better than their earlier encounter a week ago. The Golden Eagles pushed the Cougars but fell short in four sets (20-25, 12-25, 25-23, 14-25).
After going 2-1 over the weekend, the Golden Eagles' record stands at 7-10 overall. Up next, LCCC hosts Eastern Wyoming College at 7 p.m. Sept. 24.
