Equestrian team qualifies four riders for Western semifinals

Riders will compete March 23-24.
 
The LCCC equestrian team had a successful weekend at its regional Western and hunt seat competitions. The Western riders competed March 1 in regionals hosted by Nebraska College of Technical Ag in Curtis, Neb. The hunt seat riders competed March 2 in regionals hosted by Fall River Farms in Fort Lupton, Colo.

Riders must qualify to compete in the regional competition by gaining points throughout the regular season. Only the top two individuals from each class will advance to Western semifinals and hunt seat zones. Congratulations to Kayla Fisk, Kelsey Jenkins and Jessie Johnson, who will compete March 23 and 24 at Western semifinals in Syracuse, N.Y.

Results from Western Regionals:
Kayla Fisk placed 1st in open horsemanship
Kelsey Jenkins placed 2nd in novice horsemanship
Brittany DeMartin placed 7th in intermediate horsemanship
Candice Lahners placed 5th in intermediate horsemanship
Adrian Parman placed 3rd in beginner horsemanship
Jessie Johnson placed 1st in beginner horsemanship

Results from Hunt Seat Regionals:
Morgan Carmichael placed 3rd in intermediate equitation
Natalie Fry placed 4th in walk, trot, canter equitation
