Apply to the Program

Thank you for your interest in our Wind Energy Technology program. Acceptance to the program is competitive due to high demand. The program will select 24 students, and applicants must complete the acceptance checklist, including a separate Wind Energy Program Application (pdf).

Acceptance Checklist

Step 1

Apply for admission to LCCC declaring Wind Energy Technology as your major. Learn more about the admissions process and requirements.

Step 2

Request all official transcripts from your high school and/or college to:

Step 3

Complete an Application for Financial Aid & Scholarships. Learn more about ways to pay for college.

Step 4

Verify math competency. If you do not have any college credits, take the placement exam (i.e. COMPASS) in the Testing Center. You must place in MATH 0930 or higher prior to applying for placement in the Wind Energy program. An incomplete or grade lower than “C” is not acceptable.

Step 5

Academic Advising. Schedule an advising session with an adviser. Call 307.432.1616 to schedule an appointment. If this is your first semester please contact the Advising Center at 307.778.1214.

Step 6

Complete a Student Housing application if you intend to live on campus. Learn more about our residence halls.

Step 7

Complete the Wind Energy Application (at top of page).

Step 8

Attend an interview. Applicants will be contacted to schedule an interview at a mutually convenient time after their applications have been processed and reviewed. Applications will be processed as quickly as possible, and each applicant will be notified upon completion of our review process. Please do not contact us prior to being notified as it will delay the application review process.

Please note:

It is the student’s responsibility to furnish all required paperwork and to see that her/his file is complete. Incomplete applications will be ineligible for consideration.

Non-selected applicants may be placed on an alternate list and selected on a space-available basis. If not selected into the program, the student must reapply the following semester to be considered for a future class. These students will be considered along with all new applicants.
